Sacramento Kings general manager Pete D'Alessandro, who was replaced as the organization's top-decision maker by Vlade Divac, has accepted a job in Denver to work with Nuggets owner Josh Kroenke, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.

D’Alessandro had been in Sacramento since 2013. Prior to that he worked in Denver as the Nuggets’ Vice President of Basketball Operations. But in April, Kings owner Vivek Raddiave hired former Kings center Vlade Divac as the team’s new Vice President of Basketball Operations and reportedly made him the Kings’ “new lead basketball voice.”

D’Alessandro was reportedly close to taking a job as St. John’s athletic director. He attended the school and Chris Mullin, with whom he worked with in both Sacramento and Golden State, was recently named the head coach of the men’s basketball team.

Instead, D'Alessandro will now "work to support Kroenke across the Nuggets and Avalanche franchises," Wojnarowski writes, referring to the NHL franchise that Kroenke also owns. The Nuggets' current GM, Tim Connelly, is reportedly a "proponent" of D'Alessandro being hired.
