Paul Pierce is currently contemplating whether he will accept or decline a $5.5 million player option with the Wizards for next season. The 38-year-old has decided to play next season, but his decision -- which he has to make by the end of the month -- will determine what uniform he'll be in.
Paul Pierce will choose Wizards or Clippers in free agency, per report
Pierce nearly helped the Wizards to the Eastern Conference Finals, but may bail to Los Angeles to finish his career.

The Wizards and the Clippers are the only two teams the 38-year-old is considering, according to the Washington Post. If Pierce opts out, he would sign in Los Angeles for the mini-midlevel exception worth $3.4 million.
The Clippers traded for Lance Stephenson on Monday, but they are still looking for ways to add to their roster. Bringing in Pierce to start would allow Stephenson to come off the bench as a multi-dimensional forward, according to ESPN's Arash Markazi.
With the Wizards, Pierce has a young group that he has enjoyed mentoring a younger roster, but Otto Porter Jr. will likely take his spot in the starting lineup even if he returns. With the Clippers, Pierce would be making less money but could reunite with Celtics coach Doc Rivers.
The Clippers are also pursuing trade possibilities involving a swap of Jamal Crawford for Denver's Wilson Chandler, per Markazi.
