Good morning. Everyone wants DeMarcus Cousins (except his coach).
That and more in Wednesday’s NBA newsletter.

Good morning. Happy NBA Draft Eve! Let's basketball.
HOLD EVERYTHING: Amazing new Hawks uniforms! I have a feeling these might lose a little luster on the court -- simple and chill tends to work best in use, and these are not simple nor chill -- but I don’t care. I love the bravery here.
BOOGIE MAN: The DeMarcus Cousins rumor mill continues. Tuesday’s entrée was that George Karl would like to deal Cousins to the Nuggets for Ty Lawson, Kenneth Faried and Wilson Chandler. (Are you serious?) Cousins’ camp apparently has a list of four teams it’d prefer if a trade comes: the Celtics, Nuggets, Knicks and Lakers. (There is no way the Kings will deal Boogie to the Lakers. The franchise is too tapped into public appearance after the Michael Malone disaster.) The Nuggets don’t have the goods, and the Knicks are a stretch. If this is happening, Boston and Orlando are in the lead group, in my opinion.
God, I hope this isn’t happening.
’COMMITTED’: Karl spoke to the media briefly at a golf tournament, calling reports “fibs and lies” and saying if Cousins comes to camp “committed,” Karl is ready to make him the best he can be. Nice shot, coach. Meanwhile, Vlade Divac is still saying the right things.
BY THE WAY: Here’s a brief history of NBA stars (apparently) referring to George Karl as a snake on Twitter.
SOMEONE IS PLAYING DIRTY: A report that the Kings are seriously interested in JaVale McGee surfaced Tuesday. McGee and Karl did not get along in Denver.
SOMETHING LIGHTER: This is Muggsy Bogues giving Stephen Curry an airplane ride in, like, 1992.
HOW TO WRITE A SEQUEL: Zach Lowe with discussions on how the Warriors and Cavaliers can return to the Finals and some news on changes to how playoff gate is split between teams and the league.
REST IN PEACE: Harvey Pollack, the last surviving employee of the inaugural NBA season and a pioneering, impactful statistician, has died at 93. Very cool 538 piece on Pollack from last year.
NO MYSTERY IN MARIO: Rob Scott of Euroleague Adventures has seen a lot of Mario Hezonja. He explains that there’s actually very little that is mysterious about the gunner from Croatia.
Happy Wednesday. See you next time.
