2015 NBA Draft results: Richaun Holmes picked by Philadelphia 76ers
And then Sam Hinkie did another Sam Hinkie thing.

Richaun Holmes has been drafted with the 37th pick by the Philadelphia 76ers. He’s the first Bowling Green player to be selected in the draft since Antonio Daniels in 1997. Holmes, who sprouted from a 6’2 guard to a 6’10 power forward in high school, is a great defensive stopper and high-energy player who could make a name for himself in the NBA.
At Bowling Green, Holmes averaged 14.7 points, eight rebounds and 2.7 blocks in 28.8 minutes per game. With a 7’2 wingspan and great leaping ability, Holmes turned into a great shot blocker who anchored the Bowling Green defense. And unlike many shot blockers who find themselves out of position for a rebound, Holmes still was a menace on the boards, averaging 11.1 boards per 40 minutes.
Holmes’ offensive game isn’t as polished as he is defensively. He was solid against MAC competition, shooting 58.8 percent from the field. He won’t tower over NBA players physically like he was able to in college, though. Playing hard defensively will be Holmes first priority, but improving his offensive game can come with time in the gym.
