Bucks trade pick No. 46 and future first-rounder for Raptors’ Greivis Vasquez
Milwaukee grabbed Toronto’s backup point guard.
The future first will be in the 2017 draft by way of the Los Angeles Clippers and is lottery protected. For the Bucks, who hope, by 2017, to be a top team in the East, this is a low risk way of acquiring a solid backup point guard to presumably play behind Michael Carter-Williams.
While Vasquez is a slow defender, he can shoot the three-pointer and create some offense with reliable, solid passing. Toronto likely views Vasquez as replaceable and now have two more picks to maneuver with. The No. 46 pick adds to their No. 20 pick and gives them a selection in the second round after losing the No. 50 pick to Atlanta in this draft.
