Mike D’Antoni has interviewed for the Denver Nuggets’ head coaching job, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports. D’Antoni has been out of the NBA since being fired from the Lakers after the 2013-14 season.

D’Antoni had a sit down interview with Denver GM Tim Connelly, according to the report. The Nuggets are also considering interim head coach Melvin Hunt, who took over after the franchise parted ways with Brian Shaw in the middle of last season. Former Kings coach Mike Malone has also had conversations with the Nuggets.
The Nuggets finished 30-52 last season and hold the No. 7 pick in the 2015 NBA Draft. Denver’s two highest-paid players are Ty Lawson and Kenneth Faried, who are the type of athletic, up-tempo players who could flourish in D’Antoni’s fast-paced system.
Wojnarowski also reports that Hunt remains a “strong contender” to retain the job. Denver finished the season 10-13 under Hunt in the final 23 games after Shaw was fired.
