Good morning. Let’s basketball.
Good morning. The LaMarmageddon begins now.
That and more in Tuesday’s NBA newsletter.

LAMARMAGEDDON: So the LaMarcus Aldridge has been dubbed. We could just make this easy and call it LA 2 LA since it appears the big man is leaning toward joining the Lakers according to the Los Angeles Times. They’ll get the first meeting with LMA. Other teams on the docket: Spurs, Rockets, Mavericks, Raptors, Suns and Knicks. He could also take the fifth year that only Portland can offer. STAY TUNED.
SPEAKING OF WHICH ... I wondered whether the Knicks and Lakers can pull top free agents despite being at the bottom of the standings. This would be a definitive answer.
CHECK THOSE RANKINGS: With free agency beginning at midnight Eastern, don’t forget about my comprehensive rankings in which YES JOE INGLES IS WAY TOO LOW LEAVE ME ALONE UTAH AND AUSTRALIA.
JIMMY BUTLER: The Bulls basically assured themselves of keeping Jimmy Butler with an arcane max qualifying offer. Clever and comforting for Bulls fans.
DWYANE WADE: He opted out. The plot thickens. Meanwhile ...
LUOL DENG: He opted in.
DRAYMOND GREEN: He only has one meeting scheduled, and it’s with the Warriors.
KNICKS! New York is in the pole position on Greg Monroe and Arron Afflalo, who are actually good players.
TOBIAS HARRIS: The Pistons and Celtics are the leaders. I would have bet money on the Knicks in this case, but alas.
BISMACK BIYOMBO: No qualifying offer, so he’s an unrestricted free agent. That pick did not really work out.
10 MOVES THAT SHOULD BE MADE: David Aldridge’s Morning Tip has some suggestions.
GETTING THINGS DONE SINCE 1789: Someone who works in the U.S. Capitol is editing Frank Kaminsky’s Wikipedia page. We’re watching you, Paul Ryan.
CLASS PICTURE: Lee Jenkins on Stephen Curry, NBA Champion.
OH MY SWEET LORD: They wanted to cast Serena Williams to play Monica in Love & Basketball!
JEANIE BUSS Q&A: I am always going to recommend reading a Jeanie Buss Q&A. This one from Sam Amick is no exception.
Happy Tuesday. See you IN FREE AGENCY.
