Pistons hire NBA agent Arn Tellem as vice chairman
Detroit will bring in the renowned agent to be the face of the ownership group and have some influence making basketball decisions.

Currently the vice chairmen of Wasserman Media Group, Tellem will transition out of his job there over the next several months and start with the Pistons on Aug. 3.
Tellem will answer to owner Tom Gores and will not have ultimate authority, but he's still expected to have significant influence in the organization. Head coach Stan Van Gundy and general manager Jeff Bower currently share the duties of running the Pistons' front office.
“Arn brings a unique perspective that will make our entire organization stronger,” Van Gundy said in a press release. “His responsibilities may be focused on the business side, but we won’t be shy about taking full advantage of his knowledge on the basketball side as well.”
Wasserman manages more than 50 players, including Russell Westbrook, Anthony Davis, Marc Gasol and LaMarcus Aldridge. The company has a number of respected agents working in the NBA besides Tellem.
