2015 NBA Summer League schedule: Kristaps Porzingis makes his debut in Las Vegas

Karl-Anthony Towns will play a second game after a debut that showed promise but also proved he has plenty of tests to pass first. He had 12 points on 4-of-10 shooting, three rebounds, four assists and four turnovers on Friday. Others will be in action, including the showdown between the the prospect-filled Los Angeles Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers, and the debut of NBA Draft high-riser and mystery man Kristaps Porzingis.

New Orleans Pelicans vs. Dallas Mavericks, 4 p.m.

Players to watch: Unlike free agency, there was no drama with the Mavericks' summer league roster. The two biggest names are Dwight Powell -- who has the potential to be the one saving grace from an otherwise disastrous Rajon Rondo trade -- and Justin Anderson, the team's No. 21 overall draft pick.

The Pelicans counter with Seth Curry, fresh off a 30-point opening night that has him leading all of Vegas (for one night) in scoring and minutes played. Victor Rudd, a forward from South Florida, also had a strong opening game with 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting.

New York Knicks vs. San Antonio Spurs, 4:30 p.m.

Players to watch: San Antonio might need Kyle Anderson to play a bigger role for the team after losing Marco Belinelli to the Sacramento Kings this offseason. Other notable names include BYU's Brandon Davies and two-year NBA vet Nate Wolters, who has a shot to make the regular season roster after San Antonio lost Cory Joseph during the year.

However, the big story for this game is Porzingis making his debut. The Knicks' No. 4 overall pick, booed mercilessly on draft night, can now show off his size and skills in a real NBA setting. New York's roster is rather stacked, with Jerian Grant, Langston Galloway, Ricky Ledo, Thanasis Antetokounmpo, Alex Kirk and Travis Wear.

Washington Wizards vs. Phoenix Suns, 6 p.m.

Players to watch: Kelly Oubre will make his debut for Washington on Saturday and the Wizards squad also has D-League superstar Damion James on the roster. The Suns' Vegas squad has three prospects already on the roster -- T.J. Warren, Alex Len and Archie Goodwin -- and their first-round draft pick, Devin Booker.

Chicago Bulls vs. Minnesota Timberwolves, 6:30 p.m.

Players to watch: Some would say Bobby Portis fell to the Bulls at no. 22 overall, although he was ranked all over the first round. Either way, he's with Chicago now and makes his summer league debut Saturday. Across from him is Towns in his second game and a Timberwolves roster that also includes Tyus Jones, Zach LaVine and Lorenzo Brown.

Boston Celtics vs. Portland Trail Blazers, 8 p.m.

Players to watch: R.J. Hunter struggled in Utah Summer League with Boston, but fortunately, the Celtics are one of the handful of teams to double up and play in two leagues this year. He'll start in the backcourt along with Marcus Smart and try to get his shot going like he did at Georgia State. The Blazers' main prospect is Noah Vonleh -- acquired in a Nicolas Batum trade this summer -- and Meyers Leonard, who turned into a surprisingly good big man shooter last year.

Los Angeles Lakers vs. Philadelphia 76ers, 8:30 p.m.

Players to watch: Jordan Clarkson shined in Friday's game, scoring 23 points on 8-of-17 shooting. Los Angeles has several key prospects, including D'Angelo Russell -- who puttered to an eight-point night on 3-of-8 shooting -- and Julius Randle, who had 11 on 3-of-9 shooting. The Sixers' roster is surprisingly barren given their current NBA team, but Jahlil Okafor was more than enough to make up for that in the Utah Summer League last week, where he impressed with 14 points scored on average in the three games there.

Brooklyn Nets vs. Cleveland Cavaliers, 10 p.m.

Players to watch: Eric Griffin was a star last year in Las Vegas Summer League for the Mavericks with his high-flying highlight making, but he's a Cavalier this time around, still looking for an NBA contract. He and Rakeem Christmas are the best two reasons to watch Cleveland this summer -- and maybe also because David Blatt is coaching the team, not an assistant. The Nets have Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and Cliff Alexander among their huge roster thanks to playing in Orlando last week.

Miami Heat vs. Utah Jazz, 10:30 p.m.

Players to watch: Watch the Heat for Hassan Whiteside and Justise Winslow. Check out Utah for Trey Lyles and Dante Exum.
