The Denver Nuggets have inked another point guard to a long-term deal. Jameer Nelson, who was traded to the Nuggets in January, has signed a three-year, $13.5 million deal with the team, according to ESPN's Marc Stein.

Denver also gave 2014 second-round pick Nikola Jokic a four-year, $5.5 million deal, Stein reports.
Nelson averaged 8.3 points and four assists in 22.3 minutes per game last season. The 32-year-old veteran shot just 40 percent from the field, though he did connect on 35 percent of his three-pointers. He will likely serve as the backup and mentor to Emmanuel Mudiay, who Denver selected with the No. 7 overall pick in this year’s draft.
With the additions of Mudiay and signing of Nelson, it appears that Ty Lawson's time in Denver is about to come to an end. Lawson still has two years and about $30 million left on his contract, but recorded a video of himself during June's draft saying he expected to be traded sometime this offseason.
Jokic, 20, was taken by the Nuggets with the No. 41 overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. The 6’11 center averaged 16.5 points and 9.7 rebounds in 29.5 minutes per game last season while playing Serbia’s Mega Leks of the Adriatic Basketball League.
