Free agent forward Kyle O'Quinn has signed a four-year, $16 million dollar deal with the New York Knicks, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.

O'Quinn was a restricted free agent after the Magic extended him a qualifying offer. Regardless of the Magic's actual intentions, it made more sense to give themselves a chance to match any contract he signed this summer. But his minutes declined throughout the year when interim coach James Borrego took over after Jacque Vaughn was fired and perhaps that was one reason they chose not to match the Knicks.
However, the Magic did use O’Quinn’s restricted free agency status to leverage a couple small assets from New York.

He averaged six points and five rebounds in 69 games played with the Magic two season ago, but his declining time on the court last year caused his numbers to dip all around. Still, O'Quinn is a skilled player, boasting a solid mid-range jumper and physicality with his 6'10, 250-pound frame.
O’Quinn is a great fit in the New York triangle and $4 million per year is more than reasonable for a young big with room to grow. The Knicks’ quiet-but-solid summer continues with this addition.
