Wayne Ellington agrees to 1-year, $1.5 million deal with the Nets
Ellington will provide some deep shooting for a Nets team that needs it.

Ellington played for the Lakers last season, his fourth team in six years. He had career-highs in points, rebounds and assists per game while shooting a solid 37 percent from beyond the arc. Despite his solid performance he was an afterthought in the Lakers' offseason, especially with Kobe Bryant returning and the team drafting a guard in D'Angelo Russell.
Ellington is a shooter first and foremost, boasting a career average of 38 percent from beyond the arc on over four attempts per 36 minutes. He will make a nice addition to a Nets backcourt that lacks a designated marksman off the bench.
With Alan Anderson gone, Ellington will likely carve up a role for himself in the rotation right away. Ellington averages seven points, two rebounds and one assists per game for his career.
