Metta World Peace could be on his way back to the NBA. The Los Angeles Lakers are reportedly interested in signing the 35-year-old forward, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports. As of right now, no deal is in place.

World Peace, known as Ron Artest before changing his name in 2011, has spent the last two seasons playing in China and Italy. He most recently played in the NBA during the 2013-14 season, when he appeared in 29 games for the Knicks. Before that, World Peace spent four season with the Lakers, winning the championship on a team led by Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol in 2010.

In his day, World Peace was one of the best wings in the NBA. He was a premier defensive stopper, winning Defensive Player of the Year in 2004 as a member of the Pacers while also making his only All-Star Game appearance that season.

World Peace has been working out in the Lakers’ practice facility this offseason against several of the team’s players, including 2014 first round draft pick Julius Randle, according to Wojnarowski.
