The Cleveland Cavaliers could be without their star point guard well into the new season. Kyrie Irving, who missed the last five games of the NBA Finals with a fractured left kneecap, is unlikely to be available opening night and might be out until January, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
Kyrie Irving could be out until January with injury, according to report
The Cavs better get used to playing without Kyrie Irving.

Irving was limited in series against the Chicago Bulls and Atlanta Hawks in the playoffs this past year, but returned to play 44 minutes in Game 1 of the Finals. Irving was injured at the start of overtime and did not play again. The Cavs lost the series in six games without Irving and star forward Kevin Love.
Irving was originally given a 3-4 month window for recovery, but Cleveland has to be cautious with its 23-year-old star given his lengthy injury history. The Plain Dealer reports the “chances are slim” of Irving playing in the season opener on Oct. 27 in Chicago against the Bulls.
