Good morning. Let’s basketball.
Good morning. What are thoooooooose? About $150.
Just click. It’ll be okay. Just click.

BAN KNEES: Dante Exum injured his knee playing for Australia in an international exhibition. There are rumors he tore his ACL. Let’s hope that rumor is very, very wrong!
THE END OF KOBE IS NIGH: Really good Kobe Bryant interview from Marc Spears. It is starting to sound like Kobe is making peace with the end of his career. I remain wholly skeptical he’ll retire in 2016 barring another major injury. He’s too competitive and still too good, really, to walk away. But we’ll see.
EXTENSIONVILLE: Zach Lowe with a really smart piece (duh) on the extension class of 2015. Anthony Davis received his big deal ... everyone else is going to be tricky. There’s going to be a real optics issue on some of these deals. Like Terrence Jones in eight figures annually. Like, I understand. But holy s--t. I think if you do reach such a deal and you think it makes sense for the team, you have to wait until right before the season begins to announce it. Distract the dumbfounded fans with real basketball.
LIEBERMAN’S MARCH: Great Kavitha A. Davidson piece on Nancy Lieberman’s long march to the NBA sidelines.
NOW BREAK HIS LEGS: The Washington Mystics’ Stefanie Dolson beats G-Wiz in a dance-off and then viciously attacks him. The WNBA needs a mascot anti-bullying policy.
BREW CREW: Nice James Herbert Q&A with Corey Brewer.
WHAT ARE THOOOOOSE? A kid actually asked Jordan that question. And he answered by putting the kid ROFLing.
DOMINANCE: You hear about Katie Ledecky renewing her reign of terror? She’s so good she’s breaking the same world record multiple times in a single meet. It strikes me that the three most dominant athletes competing right now might all be women: Ledecky (who is owning swimming), Serena Williams (who has twice the WTA ranking points as the No. 2 woman) and Ronda Rousey.
INTERESTING: Can youth sports foster creativity? There’s research on that! And here’s the researcher who did the work talking about it on an SI podcast. Via REDEF.
LET’S TALK ABOUT DEADPOOL: My man Zito Madu is out here warning the streets about Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool. And I feel that. The Green Lantern was a disaster on wheels, and Reynolds’ take on Deadpool in that godforsaken Wolverine origin casserole was disheartening. We should have learned our lesson. But this is Deadpool! And the trailer looks great because it pegs the single most important trait about Deadpool -- he’s funny! I’m so in. (I’m also so in for the Fantastic Four movie coming out this week in case you’re wondering how much of a sucker I am.)
Happy Wednesday. See you next time.
