Three-time NBA MVP Moses Malone passed away in his sleep Sunday at age 60. Malone helped lead the Philadelphia 76ers to an NBA championship in 1983 and was named Finals MVP for his efforts.

Malone was a pioneer and one of the most successful players to be drafted straight from high school, entering the ABA at the age of 19 before it merged with the NBA two seasons later. He had a 21-year playing career with averages of 21 points and 12 rebounds when he retired in 1995. He earned the nickname “Chairman of the Boards” and “Big Mo” for his relentless work on the glass.
In 1997, Malone was named one of the NBA's 50 Greatest Players and he was elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2001. He's also the only player in NBA history to average 20 points and 10 rebounds with four different teams, reaching those numbers with the Rockets, the 76ers, the Bullets and the Hawks.
