Anthony Bennett has returned to his home country, signing with the Toronto Raptors after clearing waivers last week and passing a physical exam, according to Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports. Bennett has signed a one-year veteran minimum deal.
Anthony Bennett signs with the Raptors, per report
The former number one pick has found his third team in three years.

The former first-round pick was released by the Minnesota Timberwolves after they were reportedly unable to find any trade partners. Bennett began his rookie season injured, playing 52 games for the Cavaliers as a rookie before he was shipped to Minnesota as part of the Kevin Love deal. With the Timberwolves, Bennett played slightly better, averaging 16 minutes, five points and four rebounds in 57 games. However, it wasn't enough for the Timberwolves to keep him around in their crowded frontcourt.
Bennett is a Canadian and had a good showing for his national team in this year's FIBA Americas tournament this year. With Amir Johnson leaving Toronto this offseason, Bennett will provide depth behind Patrick Patterson and Luis Scola at power forward. At this point, it might be best that we forget Bennett was ever a number one overall pick.
