BEST WORST GAME OF THE SEASON: Kings-Lakers was mad goofy. Sacramento went up by 21 at halftime, despite Kobe blasting off for a bunch of points and an alley-oop finish. The Kings were up by as much as 27 in the third before DeMarcus Cousins was saddled with foul trouble. The Lakers stormed, had a narrow lead in the final few minutes and lost due to a couple of really bad turnovers. Like, really bad. Byron Scott kept Kobe on the sidelines as D’Angelo Russell and Jordan Clarkson led the troops. It was kind of a bright spot for the young Lakers, all told.
It would be depressing that the Kings nearly lost a game they led by 27 over an awful team, except the eventual win moved them to within a half-game of the No. 8 seed in the West! At 15-21. What a world.
OF COURSE! The Kings made a cheeseburger joke on Twitter to commemorate Kobe’s last visit to Sacramento.
