The NBA MVP field is crowded. Who’s the favorite?
On this week’s Drive & Kick podcast, Flanns and Gonz try to make sense of the insane 2017 NBA MVP race and more.
On the latest edition of the Drive & Kick podcast, Paul Flannery and John Gonzalez try to make sense of the crowded race for NBA Most Valuable Player.
When you have one guy averaging a triple-double (Russell Westbrook), another guy threatening to lead the league in points and assists (James Harden) along with the best two-way player in the game (Kawhi Leonard) and the best player of his generation (LeBron James), there’s a lot to get through.
And we haven’t forgotten about Kevin Durant, either. Flanns also makes the case for Chris Paul, who few people consider in this conversation but is still phenomenally good.
Also on the pod:
- To tank or not to tank? We run through a bunch of teams that should throw in the towel and Gonz advocates driving people into the woods.
- Long story short, pretty much everyone we mentioned should tank and we’re OK with that as a matter of general principle.
- That means you: Kings, Pels, Nuggets, Suns, Wizards, and Magic.
- We also play a game called Are You Worried, in which we discuss the relative struggles of the Pistons, Blazers, and Pacers. Gonz wants to trade everyone, I think the Pacers are in trouble.
