Shumpert is one of many NBA figures to speak out against the new president-elect.

Iman Shumpert called Donald Trump “crazy” and said he would not visit the White House if the Cleveland Cavaliers won the NBA Finals this season in a sprawling interview with Complex on Wednesday that focused mostly on fashion.

When the Cavaliers visited the White House earlier this month, several players speculated that it would be the last time an NBA team would make that trip for several years at least, with Richard Jefferson making it fairly clear he would not visit if it came up. But Shumpert was the first player to explicitly say it.

“I’m not going to the White House,” was Shumpert’s simple answer.

Shumpert was asked about Kanye West saying he would have voted for Trump if he voted, and mostly used the opportunity to explain his political stance. Here’s his answer:

I understand people’s stance on Trump. I can’t get caught up in the racial, sexist bullshit he’s got going on. That’s his personal thing, ya dig? But I just don’t think he can make anything shake like that. He not finna start no civil war out here. I do think he’s crazy—straight up. I think he did that stuff to get people to think he’s willing to shake it up. But did I vote for him? No. The other stuff that comes with him, I can’t get with. But now that he’s here, I’m not finna drag my feet. I gotta work here, at least until the offseason, if I wanna go get a crib in the Islands.

Shumpert is just the latest in a wave of NBA figures who are speaking out against the president-elect. Shortly after the election, Gregg Popovich, Stan Van Gundy, and Steve Kerr all shared passionate thoughts about their disappointment in the election results, while three teams reportedly stopped staying at Trump-branded hotels.

LeBron James was also asked if he would visit a Trump White House as president and said he wasn’t sure.

“I don’t know,” James told the Akron Beacon Journal. “That’s something I would cross. We’ll have to cross that road, I guess. We’ll see. I would love to have to cross that road.”
