Derrick Rose received some boos in his return to Chicago

They applauded Joakim Noah.

The Chicago Bulls put together a tribute video for their former players, Joakim Noah and Derrick Rose, who returned to the United Center for the first time in a different uniform on Friday. At the end of the video, Noah received applause and Rose didn’t.

When the pair were announced as starters for the New York Knicks, again the crowd cheered for Noah, but the reaction was much more mixed for Rose.

It’s an interesting fan reaction towards one player, Rose — who was traded away from the Bulls against his will — versus Noah, who elected to sign with New York in free agency.

Rose has said a few negative things in the media about Chicago. He told reporters that he thought New York was going to “appreciate him a little bit more,” but that wasn’t crushing.

Still, Bulls fans appear to have conflicted feelings about the former Chicago point guard.
