Victor Oladipo walked to the locker room under his own power after a very hard fall contested a three-point shot in the Thunder’s Sunday game against the Celtics. Oladipo stayed on the court for a couple minutes after his feet were taken out from under him on a flying contest, but finally sat up and was able to make it off the court. Here’s the play.
Victor Oladipo ruled out for a game after a terrifying fall where he landed directly on his back
This was a scary play, but it could have been much worse.

It’s easy to forget how high players jump even playing defense on the perimeter, and pump fakes just like this can often be dangerous if the offensive player moves into the defender’s legs while he’s in the air. It’s totally unintentional, but still somewhat common.
Oladipo was ruled out of the game with a sprained right wrist, which he tried to brace his fall with. Hopefully that diagnosis means that his back isn’t injured, or that there aren’t concussion-like symptoms from his head hitting the ground.
