Good morning. Let’s basketball.
Stephen Curry set D.C. on fire
Good morning. That and more in Thursday’s NBA newsletter.

SPLASH AFTER SPLASH: Stephen Curry hit 11 threes on his way to 51 points against the Wizards. He cancelled out a killer night (40-11) from John Wall. Stephen Curry is crazy good. Luckily, Draymond Green was there in the postgame to cool Steph off with a couple cups of water.
SHOOTING DAGGERS: Kevin Durant put a proverbial knife through Orlando’s heart, putting a wicked left-to-right stepback on Tobias Harris. Russell Westbrook was dope, too: he had a triple-double in 22 minutes! The Thunder are fun!

DUNK CONTEST! We have our field: Zach LaVine, Andre Drummond, Will Barton and Aaron Gordon. WATCH OUT FOR AARON GORDON.
THE RAPTORS, EH? Yaron Weitzman assesses whether the Raptors have staying power. I’m convinced they do -- having two talented attacking guards is a big deal in the NBA, and there are enough other pieces there to make them dangerous to the Cavaliers.
POINT GUARD DROUGHT: The point guard class in 2016 free agency is absurdly shallow. Brandon Jennings, Rajon Rondo and Matthew Dellavedova are in the top four! So, don’t count on your team upgrading that position in July.
GOT ‘EM: Ricky Rubio nutmegs DeAndre Jordan as the Wolves proverbially nutmeg the Clips. Meanwhile ...
DUNK BATTLE! Which 2010 Sacrament Kings draft pick had a better dunk on Wednesday: Hassan Whiteside over two Mavericks or DeMarcus Cousins over the Bulls?
AINGE’S HAND: I’ll read Harvey Araton on anything, but especially on how Danny Ainge fleeced the Nets and what happens next.
STORY TIME WITH SCAL: Here’s a write-up of Brian Scalabrine’s epic appearance on The Vertical Podcast with Woj. Scalabrine explains how the Mark Jackson blowup and late-season demotion happened. (Make it to the end for an epic Andrew Bogut joke.) While we’re here, you have got to find time to listen to Woj’s podcasts. Every single one is an excellent peak into the NBA and its personalities. We’re in a crazy golden age of NBA podcasts between Woj, Zach Lowe, Bill Simmons, Danny Leroux, Nate Duncan, Harper and Moore ... just nuts.
TONIGHT TONIGHT: I’m not going to lie: the Thursday TNT doubleheader is not terribly inspiring. We have Knicks-Pistons and Lakers-Pelicans.
Happy Thursday. See you next time.
