This space is going to be used to give you the five best plays for the games on Wednesday, March 23. Also, for a limited time SB Nation will be competing against other sites in the FanDuel Partners Basketball Championship. You can play along and follow the contest as well.
So, with that, let’s get started.
1. Karl-Anthony Towns, C, Minnesota Timberwolves ($8,800)
It's always a good idea to target the Sacramento Kings, whom the Timberwolves face on Wednesday. Sacramento is one of the worst defensive teams in the league and also plays at a fast pace. As for KAT, he's recorded five straight double-doubles and has at least 30 FanDuel points in nine of his last 10 games. He's been a beast since the All-Star break and should have no issue dominating that hapless Kings frontline.
2. Zach LaVine, SG, Minnesota Timberwolves ($6,100)
Will stick in this same game, which should be a high-scoring affair. LaVine has played 35 or more minutes in nine of his last 10 games and has at least 27 FanDuel points in his last four, making him one of the best value plays available. That Sacramento has allowed the fourth-most FanDuel points to opposing shooting guards this season just makes him more enticing.
3. Devin Booker, SG, Phoenix Suns ($6,300)
Another young gun taking advantage of more minutes and opportunities. He's averaging 17.9 points and 4.3 assists since the All-Star break, and on Wednesday gets to face a Los Angeles Lakers team that is one of the worst defensive units in the league and coming off a game the night before. You can't ask for more than that.
4. Dirk Nowitzki, PF, Dallas Mavericks ($8,000)
Dirk has turned back the clock a bit over the last week. He's averaging nearly 45 FanDuel points per game over his last five, including a 40-point outburst Sunday against the Portland Trail Blazers. With Chandler Parsons out for the year and Wesley Matthews hobbling around, the Mavs are relying on Dirk even more than they had been. He seems ready to carry them the rest of the way.
5. Shelvin Mack, PG, Utah Jazz ($6,300)
From a fantasy perspective, Mack has become one of the top point guard contributors in the league since being dealt to the Jazz. He's averaging 12.7 points and 5.9 assists in 15 games with Utah and has recorded at least 30 FanDuel points in six straight games. His Wednesday matchup against the weak Houston Rockets, also coming off a game the night before, is a good one, too. Might as well keep riding that train.
