HAPPY TRAILS, CHAMP: Peter Holt, the longtime chairman and CEO of the Spurs, is retiring. His wife Julianna Hawn Holt has been appointed CEO and chairwoman. I believe she will be the first permanent female CEO of an NBA team -- there have been interim situations due to death or other complications (Abe and Irene Pollin, Donald and Shelly Sterling). She’ll join Jeanie Buss of the Lakers as the only two women on the NBA Board of Governors. The Spurs have a real good backgrounder on her expertise and the work she’s done as her husband has been hiding from the spotlight.
