Game 1 didn't go as planned for the Raptors. The Pacers, behind a stellar 33-point, six-assist performance from Paul George, were able to steal home court advantage and knock off Toronto, 100-90, in front of an arena full of stunned fans. That makes Game 2 a must-win for Dwane Casey's bunch.
Pacers vs. Raptors, NBA playoffs 2016: Time, TV schedule and live stream for Game 2
Toronto looks to bounce back from a disappointing Game 1 loss.
If the Raptors plan on salvaging the series, they’re going to have to tighten things up on both ends of the floor. Defensively they allowed Indiana to get off too many clean looks from deep -- the Pacers connected on 11 of their 21 three-point attempts -- and as a team Toronto had no answer for George.
On offense, the Raptors will need more from their All-Star backcourt. Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan combined to score 25 points total. They averaged just under 45 per game during the regular season. The rest of the roster struggled against Indiana's stout defense as well. As a team Toronto shot just 38 percent from the field and just 21 percent on three-pointers. The Raptors also turned the ball over 19 times.
The Raptors’ superb regular season was one of the best stories of the year. But if they don’t clean up some of their sloppy mistakes this team will be remembered as the one that choked away a first-round series as opposed to the group that recorded a franchise-record 56 regular season wins.
