Stephen Curry will not play against the Rockets on Thursday, the team announced. It will be the second consecutive game he will miss due to an ankle injury he suffered in Game 1 of the Warriors' first round series against Houston.

Curry suffered a sprain late in the first quarter of Game 1. He returned to action that night but the team decided to be cautious and had him sit out Game 2 after he experienced some pain while warming up. He then had an MRI which, according to the team, didn’t “reveal anything of concern” and was upgraded to questionable for Thursday before being held out once again.
“Based on how I feel right now, I probably couldn’t play,” Curry said after Wednesday’s practice, according to The San Francisco Chronicle. “Tomorrow, it could be different. ... The trainers are doing what they can, but how I feel on the floor is a big part of it.”
Clearly, Curry wasn’t comfortable enough to suit up, so he and the team decided against it.
It’s hard to blame the Warriors and Curry for being cautious, as he has a history of ankle injuries. He had to have surgery after the 2010-11 season, but the issues persisted and he only suited up for 26 games in 2011-12. He has remained healthy ever since, until now. With the Warriors in control of the series after two games and thinking about a deep run, it makes no sense to risk further damage to his ankle at this point.
Curry averaged 30 points per game on 50 percent shooting from the field, 45 percent on three-pointers and 91 percent on free throws during the regular season. He also led the league in steals.
