NBA playoffs 2016, Hawks vs. Celtics: Time, TV schedule and live stream

The Celtics need to figure out how to win despite injuries to prevent the Hawks from taking a commanding lead.

Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

The Hawks are going into Boston with a 2-0 lead after narrowly beating a healthy Celtics squad in their first matchup and easily handling the shorthanded version in their second. Now they will have the chance to take a truly commanding lead with a road win in Game 3.

Atlanta has only held serve so far, with wins at home. Yet it's hard to shake the feeling that they are in control of the series. The Celtics were without Avery Bradley and Kelly Olynyk on Tuesday and they simply couldn't keep up with a Hawks team that was at full strength. The two Boston role players will likely miss Game 3 but even if they do suit up, they won't be fully healthy. Those are two big absences that could swing a matchup that was expected to be close.

Isaiah Thomas will have to have a better showing on Saturday than the one he had in Game 2. The All-Star guard struggled mightily against an Atlanta defense geared towards stopping him and finished with 16 points in 15 shots and more turnovers than assists. The starting forwards have also struggled, with Jae Crowder in particular not contributing much on offense. That will have to change for the Celtics to claim their first win.

For the Hawks things have worked out so far, so there are not adjustments needed. Kyle Korver came alive on Game 2, connecting five of seven three-pointers and Al Horford continued to be the best big man on the court. They could be without Dennis Schroder, however, and that would be a serious blow. Kirk Hinrich would get those backup point guard minutes and he's simply not as good a shot creator as Schroder.

When both are at full strength, these two teams are evenly matched. After 82 games, injuries are starting to pile up, and who is healthier could determine who has the edge going forward.
