The Raptors made a statement with a Game 3 win in Indiana: They are not going to collapse like they have in the past when facing adversity. After losing the first matchup in Toronto, they won the following two and are now looking to get up to a 3-1 lead with another victory on the road.

The Pacers have to tie the series at home or face an elimination game on the road.

Not only did the Raptors perform well as a team on Thursday's win but they also had some good news at the individual level. DeMar DeRozan, who struggled greatly in the first two games, scored 21 points and got to the line at the rate he's used to while DeMarre Carroll had 17 points in 35 minutes of action. Wing play had been a problem for Toronto until Game 3, so that was a welcomed sight.
Paul George had 25 points, 10 rebounds and six assists in the losing effort. He led the way for the Pacers, like he has all series long, but his numbers were a little deceiving. His shot was off, as he went 1-for-8 from the three-point line, and he turned the ball over four times. Still, he was only one of three Indiana players who cleared double digit scoring, along with George Hill and Myles Turner, so the loss can't be pinned on him.
Toronto has simply played better than the Pacers in the last two games, after dropping the first amidst a flurry of three-pointers from Indiana. They have a deeper and more well-rounded roster and don't seem rattled, like in past years. Jonas Valanciunas, in particular, looks more mature than ever and is controlling the paint against opposing starters.
The Pacers still have star power on their side, as George is the best player in the series, and a potential move to make by moving Lavoy Allen to the bench and have Turner start. Game 4 is huge for their chances, so expect Frank Vogel to give it some consideration.
Most first round series seem to be headed to an early end and this one could certainly go that way with a Raptors win. If Indiana manages to tie it at two, however, this one might go the distance.
