Who’s ready for Game 7? (Are the Heat and Raptors ready? Are we sure?)

Good morning. We have that and more in Sunday’s NBA newsletter.

Good morning. We’re going to keep this brief because it’s been a quiet weekend. Let’s basketball.

GAME 7 TIME! Raptors vs. Heat has been a struggleface of a basketball series due to injuries and spotty shooting. But consider the stakes. It's the biggest game in Raptors franchise history, a chance to make their first Eastern Conference Finals ever. (And you'd better believe the Raps think they can beat Cleveland after taking two of three in the regular season.) For the Heat, a win gives them a shot to knock LeBron off his path to yet another NBA Finals two years after he ditched South Beach, and lets Dwyane Wade prove his greatness is still undeniable, even without LeBron.

3:30 p.m. ET on ABC. Get hyped!

UNSOLVED MYSTERIES: Paul Flannery reports from the NBA Draft Combine, where the two big questions -- Ben Simmons or Brandon Ingram, and what next? -- remain unresolved. Plus, Flannery educates us on the vagaries of Jaylen Brown and other hot names from Chicago, gives us the best quotes of the week and more. Enjoy.

COOL: Woj reports the Pacers are finalizing a deal to promote Nate McMillan to head coach. A lot has been made of the tendency for McMillan’s teams to play slow, methodical offense, which would appear to be an odd fit with Larry Bird’s demands for a small, up-tempo team. But McMillan’s teams were strong on offense (four top-five offense finishes in 10 full seasons) and he used the stretch-4 early on (with Rashard Lewis in Seattle and Travis Outlaw in Portland). Good job, Pacers!

GRIZZ WATCH 2016: Memphis has interviewed Patrick Ewing, and will now be interviewing Ettore Messina and Dave Fizdale.

CLASSIC: A rookie Draymond Green tried to trash talk Tim Duncan and Tim Duncan just stared at him.

LOL: Mark Cuban was recruited to run as an independent third-party candidate for president. He’s not running, presumably in part because he dislikes Ross Perot’s son enough due to their legal battles to not want to follow in his dad’s hilarious footsteps.

Happy Sunday. See you next time.
