The New York Knicks have hired Jeff Hornacek as their next head coach, according to Bleacher Report's Howard Beck. He'll replace Kurt Rambis, who coached the team in the interim last season after Derek Fisher was fired.
Knicks hire Jeff Hornacek as their next head coach, per report
New York will not keep Kurt Rambis in the lead role.

Hornacek, a 14-year NBA veteran, interviewed with the Knicks on Monday, the fourth known candidate to be considered for the job. He spent three seasons coaching the Phoenix Suns, his first NBA head coaching position, before being fired midway through the 2015-16 campaign after an injury-filled 14-35 start for Phoenix.
However, the two sides do not have a contract in place yet.
It appears that Phil Jackson has decided on Jeff Hornacek but as of now the two sides do not have a contract in place.

It was rumored that the Knicks were strongly considering hiring Rambis in a full-time role. Rambis went 9-19 during his brief role running the team, but emerged as the favorite by April, when it was reported Phil Jackson favored keeping him around after Rambis’ time coaching under Jackson in Los Angeles. Rambis is currently expected to stay with the organization as a lead assistant, per ESPN’s Marc Stein.
Hornacek was expected to join the Warriors as a lead assistant if he didn’t find a full-time position, given Luke Walton’s departure after this season to the Lakers. The Knicks also seriously considered David Blatt and Frank Vogel, although it’s not clear whether those two candidates had mutual interest.
