Why do the rookies hate Steph Curry?

Good morning. We have that and more in Wednesday’s NBA newsletter.

Good morning. Let’s basketball.

DO ROOKIES KNOW ANYTHING? The annual NBA rookie survey is out, and the class picked Kris Dunn as the most likely Rookie of the Year from among themselves. In related news, the rookies haven’t correctly picked the Rookie of the Year since 2007. Ben Simmons actually comes in third in this exercise, behind Dunn and Brandon Ingram. Joel Embiid is my early favorite, but by the time my official predictions hit I may have switched to Ingram.

The more interesting answer to me is the rookies’ favorite NBA player. Kevin Durant won for the second straight year and Stephen Curry fell out of the top nine after tying for fourth last year. Steph finished behind LaMarcus Aldridge, Paul George and at least one retired player! He was the unanimous MVP last year! This is amazing to me. #RookiesHateSteph

I’M A BUSINESS, MAN: Jonas Jerebko bought an eSports team, Renegades.

LOL: Rutgers basketball got a little convoluted in order to “claim” the successes of Ray Allen and Rip Hamilton, both of whom actually attended UConn.

Be excellent to each other.
