Hassan Whiteside isn’t worried about getting All-Star votes anymore. That’s what he said after the Miami Heat’s practice on Thursday.
Hassan Whiteside saying All-Star Twitter campaigns are a ‘gimmick’ is probably a shot back at Joel Embiid
Where’s the eyes emoji when you need it?

“I really don’t even want to talk about it,” Whiteside told The Miami Sun Sentinel.
Whiteside was ninth overall among Eastern Conference forwards when the original voting came out. In the newest round of voting released Thursday, Whiteside had dropped out of the top 10.
“It’s more so a gimmick,” Whiteside said. “I look at guys and they just do stuff to win the fans over, make jokes on Twitter to get people to vote for them. It ain’t got nothing to do really with talent.”
Who could Whiteside be talking about? Oh, hmm. I WONDER WHO. (Note the location on this Joel Embiid photo — BBQ Chicken — which takes a joking shot at Whiteside.)
Embiid’s Twitter has been full of him finding clever ways to vote for himself. See:
And ...
Jokes on Twitter to get people to vote for him? Embiid isn’t just doing that, he’s doing it unabashedly with zero shame. It’s a stretch to say Whiteside is calling him out, but there’s some subtweeting going on here, that’s for sure.
However, that won’t deter Embiid.
God bless that man.
