Expect to see at least one new face in the starting lineup this year.

The NBA is set to announce its 2017 All-Star Game starters on Thursday in a live event aired on TNT at 7 p.m. ET and available for live stream on TNT Drama.
Fans are no longer 100 percent responsible for voting in the All-Star starters. Their share of the vote was sliced to 50 percent in a change during the offseason, with the media and players each gaining 25 percent of voting power.
It seems Cleveland’s LeBron James and Golden State’s Kevin Durant are the only locks for All-Star appearances this season. In the West, three guards (Curry, Westbrook, and James Harden) are jockeying for two starting spots, and with the new voting structure, it could go either way. The frontcourt will also feature an odd man out, with Kawhi Leonard, Anthony Davis, and DeMarcus Cousins each vying for a limited number of slots.
In the East, a slew of players, including Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokounmpo, Chicago’s Jimmy Butler, Boston’s Isaiah Thomas, and Toronto’s DeMar DeRozan each have had strong campaigns to make their first appearance as an All-Star starters. But the usual suspects in Carmelo Anthony and Dwyane Wade might have a thing or two to say about that, along with Kyrie Irving and Kyle Lowry diversifying an already saturated pool of backcourt candidates.
