Good morning. Let’s basketball.
The Knicks are just trolling Carmelo Anthony now
Good morning. We have that and more in Thursday’s NBA newsletter.

WHO COULD HAVE SEEN THIS COMING? Dwyane Wade and Jimmy Butler are furious at their teammates. And their teammates seem to be fighting back.
LOL: The Cavaliers reportedly rejected a Carmelo Anthony for Kevin Love trade offer. That a) the offer was made and b) its rejection was leaked is NOT A GOOD LOOK for Phil Jackson and the Knicks front office. It almost seems like intentional tweaking of Melo.

ALL HAIL PLANET ZARD: I wrote about how the Wizards got back on track. The short version: Markieff Morris and Kelly Oubre are shooting better, Marcus Thornton disappeared from the rotation and the Wall-Beal-Porter triumvirate is damn good.
WHY CAN’T WE HAVE NICE THINGS? Aaron Gordon is going to participate in the Dunk Contest, but apparently Zach LaVine (the reigning champ) is out. BOOOOOOOO.
SCORES GALORE ...
Kings 116, Cavaliers 112 (OT)
Rockets 109, Celtics 120
Heat 109, Nets 106
Hawks 119, Bulls 114
Sixers 114, Bucks 109
Raptors 99, Grizzlies 101
Thunder 114, Pelicans 105
Warriors 113, Hornets 103
Knicks 95, Mavericks 103
Lakers 98, Blazers 105
OH MY GOD: The Kings beat the Cavaliers in overtime and then trolled Cleveland mercilessly on Twitter. MERCILESSLY! They used LeBron’s greatest moment of joy against the Cavs! Vicious! (It got so bad on Twitter I caught a stray despite not being anywhere near Twitter during or after the game.)
SET THE TONE: Caleb Swanigan dropped more than 100 pounds to become one of the most dominant players in college basketball.
THE C’S ARE IN: Boston will wear a General Electric patch on their jerseys next season. That’s the third team to announce a jersey sponsor after the Sixers (StubHub) and Kings (Blue Diamond Almonds).
THE CLIPPERS VS. BAD INJURY LUCK: You might think this is a losing battle for L.A.’s cursed team, but the Clippers have science on their side.
NEXT UP: Your TNT doubleheader feature Mavericks-Thunder at 8 p.m. ET and Lakers-Jazz at 10:30 p.m. (That’d be an 8:30 p.m. local tip on a weeknight in Salt Lake. The NBA needs more teams in the Pacific Time Zone.)
AND FINALLY: This is Vince Carter making an in-game 360 layup at 39 years, 364 days old.
Be excellent to each other.
