Add LeBron James to the list of NBA coaches and players to take a small jab at newly inaugurated President Donald Trump.
LeBron on All-Star results: ‘There’s always goofy votes. Donald Trump is our president.’
LeBron James has never been shy about his political beliefs.

James was asked on Friday about the 2017 NBA All-Star voting results, in which a few high-profile names were left off both the Eastern and Western Conference teams.
“There’s always goofy votes,” LeBron said, per ESPN’s Dave McMenamin. “Donald Trump is our president.”
Among the West’s wonkiest of results, Russell Westbrook, who is averaging a triple-double this season, will come off the bench as an All-Star reserve behind Stephen Curry and James Harden.
As for reserves, neither Carmelo Anthony nor Dwyane Wade were named Eastern Conference All-Stars, and both Damian Lillard and Mike Conley were left off the West’s roster.
This year, the NBA changed the voting process for the All-Star starters.
In seasons past, the fans were fully responsible for determining the starting lineup. Now, their vote was only responsible for 50 percent of the final tally, with the remaining 50 percent split between the media and players themselves.
Westbrook won the media and player vote in the West, but Curry’s overwhelming fan support propelled him to the starting lineup.
And of the 324 players to participate in the voting process, 98 had one vote, an indication that they may have voted for themselves.
The NBA’s revamped voting system may have added a bit of intrigue to the All-Star starters selection process, but it isn’t perfect by any means.
