Blake Griffin’s buzzer-beating 3 over Blazers keeps Clippers undefeated

BLAAAAKE!

An absolutely bonkers finish saw Blake Griffin hit a game-winning three-point shot at the buzzer to beat the Portland Trail Blazers, 104-103:

How’d we get to this point?

The last few seconds of this one saw every emotion possible on both sides.

Down by just a point, Austin Rivers drove down the lane, and a blocking foul was called. But Rivers went down with a dislocated pinky that caused him to scream in pain until a team doctor quite literally put it back in place. Patrick Beverley held Rivers head as he yelled out. It was brutal, and if you so wish you can watch that unfold here. (BUT DON’T.) Even worse for Rivers, as he was screaming, the call was reversed and he was called for an offensive foul. Blazers ball!

C.J. McCollum, a usually reliable free-throw shooter, was then fouled with the opportunity to put his team up by three. He missed one, and that cost his team the game.

Blake Griffin was able to dribble with space, and the forward’s newfound range allowed him to knock the big one down.
