The Thunder’s plane hit something in midair. But what?

After losing in Minneapolis, the Thunder flew to Chicago. They hit something on the way.

After yet another heartbreaking loss for the Oklahoma City Thunder against the upstart Minnesota Timberwolves, the team was scheduled to fly from the Twin Cities to Chicago. When the Thunder landed, the players noticed something odd about the nose of the plane.

As Carmelo Anthony wrote on Instagram, everyone is fine. Steven Adams, however, has questions.

In-flight damage to nose cones is not unheard of, with lightning and hailstones being blamed in past incidents on Boeing 757s.

Patrick Patterson slightly overrates the tension strength of nose cones.

Delta Airlines, who provided the charter flight for the Thunder, told The Oklahoman that the plane likely hit a bird upon descent into Chicago. If a bird did that to a 757 ... you definitely don’t want to see the bird.

Everyone aboard the plane was safe. The Thunder plays the Bulls at 8 p.m. ET on Saturday. Prepare your Andre Roberson “free throws so errant they are damaging airplanes” jokes.
