LeBron James was spotted shooting left-handed during shoot around before the Cavaliers game against the Knicks on Monday night. But we’re not talking left-handed layups or shots from the block area that you use to get warmed up. We’re talking jumpers and three-pointers.
LeBron James’ left-handed shooting identity crisis goes all the way back to grade school
LeBron wants to be a left-handed shooter so badly these days.

LeBron may just be bored, but I think he’s having serious regret over not being a left-handed shooter.
LeBron James is actually left-handed, so him shooting right-handed is the weird part.
Yes, it’s strange to see LeBron shooting left-handed because we are used to him using the other hand. But in reality, LeBron has always been left-handed. He writes left-handed, too.
What’s very “LeBron James” about all of this is that he grew up left-handed, but saw his favorite players shooting right-handed. So, he shot that way instead as a kid.
“I have no idea how I became a right-handed basketball player, I think it was probably Michael Jordan, Penny Hardaway, guys that I looked up to growing up. Seeing those guys shooting righty, so I was like ‘I guess I’ll shoot righty.’ Yeah I’m pretty much a left-hand guy.”
This is not the first time we’ve seen LeBron go left
He was shooting left-handed in the 2016 playoffs, being extremely disrespectful to the Raptors. Here is a spin move in the lane, followed by a lefty jumper.
And another.
There is even proof he has been working on this
Here is a video of LeBron in 2015 where his left-handed shot clanks off the side of the backboard. The form was good but he missed this shot so bad.
In conclusion, I feel that LeBron is having a left-handed shooting crisis. It’s his 15th year in the league, he’s much closer to retirement than beginning his career, and I think he may be having a small breakdown.
Also, can’t wait for 20th-year LeBron to just be efficient as hell, shooting with both hands, finding new ways to destroy the NBA.
