Big men are Eurostepping now, and that’s a good thing
Your favorite center might just euro around a defender in his next game.
A move that Manu Ginobili made popular in the early 2000s caught on across the league. First we saw Dwyane Wade, then James Harden Eurostep through defenses to the rack.
Now, deft seven-footers with twinkle toes are splicing defenders to get to their sweet spot. The league has seen Joel Embiid, Kristaps Porzingis, Karl-Anthony Towns, Anthony Davis, DeMarcus Cousins, and even Rudy Gobert finish using a nasty side-step. And if you count Giannis Antetokounmpo as a big man, you can throw him in there, too.
Eurostepping isn’t unique to just guards and wings anymore. Now, nobody is safe from that devastating one-two step we all love.
