Orlando Magic center Nikola Vucevic broke his left hand early in the team’s Saturday night matchup against the Washington Wizards. The official injury is a fractured metacarpal of his index finger, and he will miss six-to-eight weeks after undergoing surgery, according to The Vertical’s Shams Charania.
Nikola Vucevic is out 6-8 weeks with a fractured hand, and the Magic injury woes continue
Vucevic’s hand surgery adds another Orlando starter sitting out due to injury.

Vucevic is averaging 17.8 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game and logged seven games with 24 points or more, including a 41-point outburst against the Nets in October. His surgery is yet another devastating blow for a Magic team that started hot but cooled off considerably since.
The injuries keep adding up for Orlando
The Magic started the season 8-4 with a starting lineup of Elfrid Payton, Terrence Ross, Evan Fournier, Aaron Gordon, and Vucevic. But after Ross (MCL sprain/right leg fracture), Gordon (concussion/calf), Fournier (ankle) and now Vucevic have suffered injuries, Payton remains the lone starter in the starting five.
As a result, Orlando has piled up seven straight losses with no end to its losing streak in sight.
The Magic probably weren’t a playoff team to begin with, and they had lost nine in a row well before the injuries began to stack up. But you never want to see a team with such young talent endure so many injuries midway through the year.
Hopefully Orlando can catch a break and get its players back on the court soon.
