Vince Carter is 40 years old, racked up a number of DNP-coaches decisions this year, and still came out and outscored LeBron James with 24 points to beat the Cavaliers, 109-95, Wednesday night.

It was the first time Carter scored more points than James (16 points) in a game since 2007, according to ESPN.

On 10-of-12 shooting, he set an NBA record for most bench points for a player 40 or over. He sunk 4-of-5 of the three-point shots he took as well, and had only made six in total on the season before Wednesday night. He erupted.

Carter is still only averaging three points per game on the season, but it’s nice to see even at his age that he’s still got game.

Maybe, just maybe, he’ll play another season after this. Carter and Manu Ginobili forever!
