Bam Adebayo is getting some extra time for the Heat with Hassan Whiteside sidelined, and he’s using it well. On Sunday night against the Warriors, Miami’s rookie locked up Steph Curry on the perimeter.
Bam Adebayo locking down Steph Curry on the perimeter shows the rookie’s defensive potential
This was impressive!

Typically if Curry switches on to a big, that means it’s game over. Even more so when that big is a 20-year-old rookie. But this was some astounding effort by Adebayo against maybe the best ball-handler in the league. Despite standing seven feet tall, he was really swift on his feet.
The Kentucky big was touted as one of the best rebounders in the country last year, and rarely was tasked to step out to the perimeter. So this play is a surprise, and something totally new to him.
It looks like the lottery pick has promise on the defensive end.
