Kawhi Leonard is quietly having a fantastic year as the Spurs and their players always do. With the scoring tear he’s been on, it’s time he legitimately be entered in the MVP race. He finishing with 36 points on Tuesday night and was a force to be reckoned with on both ends for the Spurs. While other MVP candidates like Russell Westbrook and James Harden continue to put up spectacular individual numbers as well, what separates Leonard is the Spurs winning record. The Spurs are 37-11 and Leonard is their leader every single night.
NBA scores 2017: Kawhi Leonard and Spurs too much for Thunder
It’s time to start seriously considering Kawhi Leonoard for MVP

Not only is he having a great season, he’s having some of the best games of his career.
The Spurs were in control for most of the game except for the third quarter. During the third, Russell Westbrook led the Thunder on a 22-2 run. The Thunder were up 75-73 with 30 second remaining the 3rd quarter but Patty Mills hit a late three to put Spurs back ahead 76-73. From there it was all Kawhi Leonard. He scored 20 points in the fourth quarter alone. He had an up and under layup, a shimmy into a fadeaway, a dunk in traffic, and a late 3-pointer to put the Spurs up 14. He was doing absolutely everything for his team.
There was also no triple double last night for Russell Westbrook who finished with 27 points, six rebounds and 14 assists. Westbrook has never scored a triple-double against the Spurs. But what was probably worse for the Thunder was that Westbrook didn’t score the entire fourth quarter.
The Thunder never really got going on Tuesday night. They finished the night shooting only 35.3 percent from the floor. Thunder bench points
The Wizards have won 15 straight at home
Are the Wizards for real? They’ve now won 5 straight, are tied for 4th seed, and are 21-9 since Dec. 1. The Wizards are even eight games above .500. John Wall finished the night with 13 assists giving him 32 assists over his last two games.
Kyle Lowry saved the Raptors in OT
Again without DeMar DeRozan, Kyle Lowry put the team on his back on Tuesday night. Kyle Lowry hit a 21-foot step back jumper with 4.3 seconds left in overtime to put the Raptors ahead for good. Lowry finished with 33 points on the night. He scored 26 of his 33 points in the second half and overtime.
Dunk of the night
Norman Powell dunked all over Anthony Davis. He went right at him!
Block of the night
Jonathon Simmons chasedown blocks are a thing of beauty.
