Ryan Anderson might miss a game because he was taking out his trash

He ‘lopped off’ skin on his thumb trying to push the trash down in his kitchen.

We thought Enes Kanter had the award for “dumbest injury” locked up in the NBA this season, but we spoke too soon. Ryan Anderson has now emerged as a contender.

On Sunday night, Anderson was at home pushing his trash down when he “lopped off” a portion of his skin — which, uh, is not good. He’s questionable for the Rockets next game on Wednesday.

My assumption is there was something sharp in the trash can that Anderson forgot about, and he pushed down right on it with his hand. I personally don’t put very many sharp objects in my kitchen trash can, but I’m not going to say it never happens. I mean, I can recycle my elaborate collection of swords and katanas, now can I?

If you need a refresher, Kanter broke his hand when he punched a chair.

Neither of them is as egregious as Derrick Rose cutting his arm on a knife that he put in his bed and forgot about, but hey, they’re definitely weird ones.
