Anthony Davis plays in New Orleans a lot, but never with the help he had Sunday night. As a starter on the West team for the 2017 NBA All-Star Game, Davis racked up 52 points, shattering Wilt Chamberlain’s record of 42 points set in 1962.

There was extremely little defense played in Sunday’s event — the West won 192-182, scoring just four points under the all-time team scoring record — but putting up 52 is still crazy impressive. Those points included 18 dunks, per TNT. Davis probably missed another half-dozen dunks on attempted alley-oop connections. He went 26-39 in 32 minutes.
This amazing assist from Stephen Curry got Davis to 50 points on the night.
One possession later, Davis threw down yet another dunk off of an awesome James Harden assist.
Essentially, Davis was the West’s guards’ canvas. Lo, did they paint.
Interestingly, with about four minutes left in the game, Davis and Russell Westbrook were both in position to break the scoring record. But West coach Steve Kerr sat Westbrook for the remainder of the game, and he stayed on 41 points, one under Wilt’s mark. Davis stayed in the game and burst through the record.
