Carmelo Anthony needs to escape the Knicks
In this week’s Drive & Kick podcast, our hosts discuss the ongoing blizzard of facepalms that is the New York Knicks — before the Charles Oakley incident.

Phil Jackson threw more shade at Carmelo Anthony with a bizarre tweet that referenced former Hoya Destroya Michael Graham, of all people. Who does this help? Nobody, that’s who.
Now, it’s fair that Melo has been an ill fit for Jackson’s rebuilding plan. (Assuming such a thing actually exists.) And it’s also true that Melo is a diminished star who doesn’t make his teammates better. But who gave him the no-trade clause in the first place? Oh, right.
We get into all of that and more dysfunctional drama on this week’s Drive & Kick podcast. Also on the pod:
- By the way, Michael Graham has gone from a cautionary tale to an inspirational one. Just classic Phil bullying.
- OK, Melo. Does anyone actually want to trade for him?
- The Cavs have issues but none of them are named Kevin Love.
- Have they left an opening for Toronto, Boston, or Washington or is this just a blip en route to another finals appearance for LeBron James and friends?
- Should one of these teams make a move? Flanns think the Raps should go all-in. Gonz thinks the Celtics need to cash in on their assets.
- The Wizards are good and Bradley Beal is good. (Sorry, Gonz. You should always listen to Flannstradamus.)
- A contractually obligated conversation about the 76ers and Jahlil Okafor. Ooof.
