Stephen Curry has passed his dad, Dell Curry, on the NBA’s all-time scoring list with a top-of-the-key three-pointer in Golden State’s game on Friday. Here’s the shot that vaulted him up the list, as Curry is now 210th all-time in league history, ahead of his father’s 12,670 career points.
Stephen Curry passes Dell Curry on all-time NBA scoring list in 8 fewer seasons
The son has passed the father, though they both share a beautiful jumper.

Steph was 14 points behind Dell coming into the game, so it seemed likely that he would pass Dell on Friday. The NBA put together this highlight montage of the Curry father-son duo, who share a beautiful shooting stroke (though their shots have some differences, for sure).
Dell Curry took 16 seasons to tally his 12,000-plus points, of course, never averaging more than 16.3 points in a season. His son is averaging 24.9 points this year and has topped his dad in just eight seasons.
For what it’s worth, Seth Curry just passed 1,000 career points this season, so he has a ways to go. Since the All-Star break, he’s averaging about 23 points for the Dallas Mavericks.
