The Golden State Warriors will rest their key rotation players and risk dropping three straight games when they play the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday, head coach Steve Kerr announced on Friday.
Warriors resting key veterans in crucial West standings matchup vs. Spurs
Kawhi Leonard will also miss the game for San Antonio.

Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, Klay Thompson and Andre Iguodala will all be given nights off for rest on the second night of the back-to-back, a day after losing to the Timberwolves. For San Antonio, Kawhi Leonard will miss the game with a concussion suffered Thursday night.
The game matters in the standings, even with both teams missing players. The Spurs are only 1.5 games back of the Warriors for the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference, and Golden State has been tumbling as of late. The Warriors have lost four of their last six games, but haven’t lost three straight games since Nov. 2013. Going up San Antonio, even without Leonard, could change that.
A win by San Antonio would also give them a tiebreaker between the two teams. The Spurs and the Warriors have only played once this year, in the NBA season opener, which San Antonio won big. They have one remaining matchup on March 29.
Tony Parker is also questionable for the game with back stiffness for San Antonio. Kevin Durant remains out with a knee injury for the Warriors.
