Chicago Bulls shooting guard Dwyane Wade will miss the rest of the season after an MRI revealed a sprain and small fracture in his right elbow, the team announced.

Wade injured his elbow against the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday night. He left the game in the third quarter after battling for a rebound with Zach Randolph. The Bulls lost, 98-91.
The Bulls have struggled finding their way all season and currently sit in 10th in the Eastern Conference with a 32-36 record. Wade is averaging 18.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game in his first year with the Chicago Bulls.
Chicago owns its first-round pick in this year’s draft and is currently slated to land the No. 13 overall pick. Losing one of the team’s best playmakers should help their draft standing.
This summer Wade signed a two-year, $47.5 million deal in Chicago, after spending his first 13 seasons in the league with the Miami Heat. He holds the player option on the 2017-18 season and can opt out to enter unrestricted free agency in July.
